BRONX, N.Y. - The Terriers went to New York City for a meet with Fordham on Saturday, where the men's team took a decisive 178-108 victory and the women's team suffered its first loss of the season as they were edged by the Rams 153.5-146.5
The men's team started the day with a first- and second-place finish in the 200 yard medley, giving the Terriers a quick 15 points, which they continued to add to with 10 first-place and 10 second-place finishes in the individual events.
The women's team dominated freestyle events, with Stephanie Nasson winning the 1000 and 200 yard races and placing second in the 500. Sarah Hargrave was right behind her in the 1000, finishing in second, and then won the 500 yard event. Alexsa Savage won the 100 freestyle after taking second in the 50 yard race.
Garrett Chin came up with two wins for the men, taking first in the 200 yard backstroke and the 200 IM while Quinn Smith accounted for three first-place finishes, winning two individual races (100 backstroke and 200 breaststroke) and helping the Terriers win the 200 medley relay.
In the diving pool, the Terriers swept all four events, with Lizzie Tillow and Eric Mitchell winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events.
BU is back in action later this month when for the Terrier Invitational on Nov. 21-23 at home in the Competition Pool.
