
Adler Finishes Eighth in Mile at NCAA Championships

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Senior Monica Adler of the Boston University women's track & field team finished eighth in the mile at the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of New Mexico at the Albuquerque Convention Center on Saturday night.
Adler concluded her fantastic indoor season with a time of 4:40.87 in the final of her NCAA championship debut. Villanova's Emily Lipari won with a mark of 4:38.82. Adler had the fifth-fastest time in the semifinals on Friday at 4:42.56.
The Manchester, Mass., native qualified for the NCAA Championships after her personal-best time of 4:36.35 in the mile at the BU Last Chance Meet on March 2. That mark was just shy of the school record of 4:35.65 set by Jennifer Lanctot at the 1991 national championships. Adler is the Patriot League champion in the mile and was also an Academic All-Patriot League selection.
