BOSTON – The Boston University men’s and women’s track & field teams competed in the ECAC Championships this past weekend at the Track and Tennis Center.

The women finished the three-day event with 15 points while the men earned 11 points. This was the final indoor meet of the season at the TTC as the Terriers will turn their attention to the outdoor season in two weeks.

Sophomore Christy Wood concluded a successful indoor season with a pair of personal-best times. She finished second in the 400m dash (54.30) and fifth in the 200m dash (24.04). Gemma Acheampong was one one-hundredth of a second from matching Shelby Walton’s school record of 7.53 seconds in the 60m dash, as the junior finished the prelims with a time of 7.54 seconds.

Freshman Toria Levy earned a point with an eighth-place performance in the 400m dash (55.49) while sophomore Jade Paul was eighth in the 500m dash (1:15.48). Paul’s classmate, Michelle Sumner, also finished eighth in 5,000m run (16:53.82).

On the men’s side, sophomore David Lagerberg finished fourth in the 400m dash with a time of 47.17 seconds while freshman Justin Flynn secured sixth in the 60m dash (6.95). In field events, sophomore Reuben Horace was sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 18.76 meters. Junior Ethan Knight also competed in the shot put (15.47m).

BU will officially conclude the indoor season next weekend at the NCAA Championships in Albuquerque, N.M. Rich Peters and Monica Adler will each compete in the mile while Peters will also take part in the 3,000m run.
