Coming off a sweep of Dartmouth and Rutgers last weekend, the Boston University men's rowing team will continue its spring season vs. Syracuse and Columbia this Saturday in Syracuse, N.Y.
Last season, the Terriers defeated both Syracuse for the Conlan Cup and Columbia for the Lusins Cup, sweeping all four races on the day.
"Our team had a solid performance last week vs. Dartmouth and Rutgers," said men's rowing head coach Tom Bohrer. "We'll look to carrying that momentum into the Syracuse/Columbia race. We made a few changes in the line-ups this week and look forward to seeing how that translates into the racing."
The Terriers have long racing histories against both schools, having first raced Syracuse back in 1942 and Columbia in 1948. BU has won four of the last five Lusins Cups over Columbia and two of the last three Conlan Cups over Syracuse.
With only two races remaining before the Eastern Sprints on May 18, and coming off a victory over Dartmouth and Rutgers last weekend, the Terriers will look to continue their winning ways.
"Every boat executed very well last week ," said senior co-captain Lenny Futterman. "This week, all we plan on doing is having the same high level of execution across all the boats."
The Syracuse Alumni Rowing Association will provide a live audio broadcast of Saturday's races. For a stroke by stroke account of the races from start to finish by phone call (712) 432-4418 or
