The Boston University women's track & field team will compete at the Patriot League Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday and Saturday, hosted by Navy at Ingram Field.

The Terriers are the favorites entering this weekend and will look to win their third Patriot League title in 2013-14. They claimed the cross country championship in November and the indoor crown in February. BU athletes hold the top mark in the Patriot League in 10 of the 19 women's individual events heading into the weekend.

BU cruised to the indoor title, finishing 80 points clear of second-place Lehigh thanks to seven victories. The Terriers will be favored in all the sprint events, as they own the fastest times in the 100m, 200m and 400m dashes. Sophomore Christy Wood has the top 200- and 400-meter times in the conference entering the weekend and was the 400m dash champion in February. Senior Carolyn Maynard and sophomore Jade Paul are also expected to finish in the top eight of the 400m dash.

Wood is also third in the conference with a time of 11.84 seconds in the 100m dash. Junior Gemma Acheampong, who matched the school-record time of 11.75 seconds at the Florida Relays, is the top conference athlete in the 100m dash. She also ranks third in the 200m dash (24.52), joined by freshman Djenne Parris (24.73) and Maynard (25.15) as contenders in that race. In the 400m hurdles, freshman Toria Levy (59.78) and senior Hannah Wiley (1:00.69) own the top two times in the league, with junior Victoria Perez also expected to score points.

Rounding out the impressive group of sprinters is the 4x400m relay team of Maynard, Wood, Levy and Wiley. The foursome combined for a school-record time of 3:38.77 at the Penn Relays last weekend, easily the top time in the conference. BU also ranks first in the 4x100m relay, as Wiley, Wood, Acheampong and senior Nikko Brady had a mark of 45.99 seconds at the Penn Relays.

Brady and senior Allison Barwise will be making their Patriot League debuts this weekend after not competing during the indoor season. Brady is coming off a spectacular performance at the Penn Relays, finishing with the program's second-best long jump mark (6.21m) and posting the top Patriot League time in the 100m hurdles (13.84).

Barwise ranks fourth in the NCAA with a mark of 1.85 meters in the high jump. She is also second in the conference in the long jump (6.07m), javelin (42.62m) and 100m hurdles (14.10). Junior Tessa Runels owns the top mark in the triple jump (11.95m) and will also factor in the long jump.

In the distance events, two key Terriers will be making their outdoor debuts. Junior Rosa Moriello and senior Monica Adler won the indoor titles in the 3,000m run and mile, respectively, with Adler earning USTFCCCA First-Team All-America honors in the mile. Sophomore Michelle Sumner has the top 10,000m time in the conference while junior Ashli Tagoai will join Adler as a contender in the 1,500m run.

Following the Patriot League Championships, BU will compete in the New England Championships (May 8-10).
