Women's Rowing Set for Eastern Sprints Sunday

The Boston University women's rowing team will race at the 40th annual EAWRC Sprints Championships Sunday on the Cooper River in Camden, N.J. The Terriers will send nine boats to the competition in both openweight and lightweight competition beginning at 8:20 a.m.
In their first race of the day, the varsity eight boat will face off against four crews from Rutgers, Columbia, Georgetown and Buffalo. The Terriers have already faced and defeated Rutgers and Buffalo earlier in their duel season.
The lightweight team will be making its second appearance in the Eastern Sprints after debuting last spring. The lightweight varsity eight boat will battle crews from Harvard, Princeton, Wisconsin and Georgetown in the final at 12:45 p.m.
Boston University will be seeking its first Nathanial Case Trophy since 1992.
The Sprints will be the Terriers final competition before they compete in the Patriot League Championships on May 16 in Worcester.
