Seven Terriers Earn PL Postseason Honors

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Seven members of the 2014 Patriot League Champion Boston University women’s rowing team were named All-League Patriot League selections, as announced on Tuesday by the conference office.
All-Patriot League First Team selections included seniors Sarah Specht, Alex Gustafson, Lynn Ratte and Westanna Carleton. Terriers seniors Mackenzie Wiler, Kerry Kennedy and junior Claire Richer were all named to the All-League Second Team.
Boston University lead all schools with seven All-Patriot League selections.
“I am so happy and excited for all our honorees,” said head women’s rowing coach Stacey Rippetoe.” These awards are recognition of years of hard work and dedication. Sarah, Alex, Lynn, Mackenzie, Westanna, Kerry and Claire are all selfless leaders who have always put the team first. Our recent success at the Patriot League Championship and these awards are testaments to that.”
On Friday, May 16, the Terriers rallied past defending Patriot League champion Navy by winning the varsity eight race to give BU 49 points and the championship as Navy finished fourth in the V8 race and finished with 45 points.
I addition to the all-league honors, Boston University’s varsity eight boat claimed the Patriot League Boat of the Year award for their performance and Terriers' head coach Stacey Rippetoe was named Patriot League Coach of the Year in her first season after BU joined the Patriot League from the CAA in 2013.
Boston University will represent the Patriot League in the NCAA Division I Championship held on May 30-June 1 at Eagle Creek Park in Indianapolis.
