
Seven Terriers Earn CRCA Honors

CRCA Honors: All-Region | Scholar-Athletes
BOSTON - Seven members of the Patriot League champion Boston University women's rowing team were recognized by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) with seniors Alex Gustafson and Lynn Ratte both earning Mid-Atlantic All-Region First Team honors.
Two of their classmates, Sarah Specht and Westanna Carleton, were both placed on the second team along with junior Kelly Jackson. Majoring in psychology, Jackson also received CRCA National Scholar-Athlete accolades with junior Claire Richer (environmental analysis & policy and international relations) and sophomore Emily Lerhe (human physiology).
All seven Terriers are members of the varsity eight boat that won gold at the Patriot League Championships by four seconds and was tabbed the Row2K Boat of the Week this past Monday.
Ratte and Richer were both honored by the CRCA in 2013. Ratte received All-Region Second Team honors, while Richer was placed on Scholar-Athlete list for the first time.
Nominated student-athletes for All-Region honors are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coaches recommendations and 2,000-meter erg score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75 percent of races this season.
Recipients of the Scholar-Athlete Award must have rowed in her at least 75 percent of the races during the spring and own a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher for her career.
