August 20, 2014 | Men's Cross Country
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - The Boston University men's cross country team has been selected to finish fifth at the 2014 Patriot League Championship in a poll of the conference's head coaches and sports information directors.
BU, which finished fifth at last year's conference meet, was one of five schools to earn at least 100 points. The Terriers secured 104 points, just eight behind Army (112). Navy (158) topped the poll with 14 first-place votes, with Lehigh (145) and American (126) in second and third, respectively. BU was ahead of Bucknell (87), Holy Cross (61), Colgate (49), Lafayette (30) and Loyola (28).
The Terriers will return two of their top-25 finishers from last year's event, as junior Kevin Thomas and senior Ben Ravetz are among the 14 letter winners back from the 2013 squad. Junior Alec Olson, who won the Ted Owen Invitational last year, will also be back and is coming off an appearance at the NCAA Championships during the 2014 outdoor track & field season. The veteran group, led by 10 juniors and seniors, will begin the 2014 campaign on Sept. 6 at the Nassaney Invitational.
