CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Senior Rosa Moriello of the Boston University women's cross country team was named Patriot League Female Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Moriello was impressive in her 2014 debut, claiming the individual title at the Ted Owen Invitational. Her 34-second victory helped BU earn its second team triumph in as many races this season. She crossed the finish line in a time of 16:59.7.

A native of Naugatuck, Connecticut, Moriello has won four of her last five races dating back to last season. She will look to defend her title at the New England Championship on Oct. 11 at Franklin Park.
