
Terriers Earn 2 Top-Five Finishes at Princeton Chase

RESULTS
PRINCETON, N.J. - Highlighted by a victory and a fifth-place finish in the novice eight race, the Boston University women's lightweight and openweight rowing teams continued their fall season at the Princeton 3-Mile Chase on Sunday.
In the women's varsity 8 race, the Terriers' lightweight V8 boat finished third among lightweights behind only Harvard and Princeton and 30th overall. The lightweight varsity eight, coxed by senior Allison Triola, finished with a time of 16:00.38, ahead of several openweight A boats in a large and deep field of 65.
Later in the day, the lightweights sent out 2 boats to compete in the novice eight competition, with the lightweight A boat winning the race while the lightweight B took 11th. Coxed by freshman Paulina Goossens and stroked by classmate Lucy Geraghty, the lightweight A finished with a time of 16:28.05, best in the field of 16.
The openweights sent out four boats to compete on Sunday, two each in the varsity eight and novice eight races. In the varsity eight race, the V8 boat, coxed by junior Marlaina Miller, finished with a time of 16:12.24 and in 37th place in the field of 65. The V8 finished ahead of A boats from Georgetown, George Washington, MIT and Drexel.
The openweight novice A boat finished an impressive 5th in the novice eight race. Coxed by sophomore Emily Phaneuf and stroked by freshman Claire Murphy, the novice eight A finished with a time of 17:39.46, ahead of 12 other boats including crews from Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn and Princeton.
Next up for the Terriers will be the Foot of the Charles on Nov. 14 which will be the team's final race of the fall season.
