Thomas Leads Terriers at NCAA Northeast Regional

BOSTON - Paced by senior Kevin Thomas' 20th-place performance, the Boston University men's cross country team competed at the NCAA Northeast Regional hosted at Franklin Park on Friday.
Thomas crossed the finish line with a time of 31:08. to help the Terriers finish 19th in the 28-team field . He can potentially qualify for the NCAA Championships as an at-large selection based on his performance on Friday. Thomas will learn his fate on Saturday when the NCAA announces the qualifiers that will compete in Louisville, Kentucky, next weekend.
Senior Alec Olson was next for the Terriers, as he finished 88th out of 255 runners with a time of 32:21.8. Freshman Alexander Seal, the Patriot League Rookie of the Year, followed Olson with a time of 33:04.6. Junior Ethan Homan was right behind Olson with a time of 33:04.7, with classmate Matti Groll (33:38.4), junior Paul Gennaro (33:57.2) and senior Syian Srikumar (34:22.3) rounding out the BU contingent.
The Terriers will begin their indoor track & field season on Dec. 5 when they host the BU Opener at the Track and Tennis Center.
