BOSTON - Concluding its five-game road trip, the Boston University men's basketball team will play at in-state rival UMass for the first time in five years on Wednesday night with action slated to begin at 7 p.m.
The Terriers (3-3) are coming off a 75-65 win at Binghamton and will try to claim their first win streak of the season. The Minutemen (4-1) on the other hand will try to avoid their first losing streak after dropping a 97-76 decision to Creighton back on Nov. 25.
TERRIER TIDBITS
• BU last went on a five-game road trip in the 2007-08 season ... The Terriers already own two road non-conference victories this season after going 1-5 away from home last season.
• Senior John Papale, sophomore Cheddi Mosely and freshman Kyle Foreman have combined for 51 of BU’s 58 3FGs ... BU ranks 27th nationally in made 3FGs at 9.8 per game.
• Papale has hit five 3FGs in three of his last five games to rank sixth in the NCAA in made 3FGs (4.0) ... Earned back-to-back 21-pt. performances vs. Albany and at NJIT after reaching 20+ points a combined two times his first three years ... Ranks third at BU all-time in career treys (216) and needs a career-high 23 points vs. UMass to become the 34th Terrier (first since Dom Morris in 2014) to reach 1,000.
• Previously posting 21 points in a win at South Florida, Mosely tallied 23 of his career-high 26 pts. in the first half at Binghamton ... It was the most in a half by a Terrier since John Holland had 24 at Delaware in 2011 en route to 43 points.
• Foreman is shooting a team-high 52.0 FG % to average 12.2 ppg ... If season ended today, he would average most the highest ppg by a BU freshman since Jake O’Brien (‘12) averaged 12.5 ppg in 2008-09 ... Coincidentally, O’Brien’s final game as a Terrier was at UMass where he fractured a bone in his foot ... O'Brien graduated from BU with 1,020 career points in just two and a half seasons of action.
• Opponents are averaging 7.2 more free throw attempts per game than the Terriers and are out-rebounding BU by 4.6 rpg ... BU ranks 315th nationally in offensive rebounds at 8.3 rpg ... BU finished ahead in rebounds and in second chance points for the first time this season at Binghamton on Sat.
• Senior Nathan Dieudonne owns BU's lone double-double (10p, 10r) this season vs. Northeastern ... Reached 500-rebound milestone at South Florida.
• In the loss to Kentucky, BU shot 37.0 FG%, marking lone time this season BU’s offense was held below 46.0 FG% ... The Wildcats shot 51.6 percent ... The Terriers have dropped their last 19 games when an opponent reaches the 45.0 FG% threshold with last win coming against American in 2014.
• BU is seeking its first win against the Atlantic 10 since winning at Rhode Island (70-64) in 2011 ... Head coach Joe Jones is 1-7 vs. A-10 with the Terriers ... Coincidentally, the Patriot League is 1-7 (all on the road) against the A-10 this year.
SCOUTING UMASS
• The Minutemen are returning two starters from a squad that went 17-15 last season ... They were selected to finish 10th in the 14-team Atlantic 10 this year.
• UMass is 2-0 at home with wins over Howard (85-79) and Central Arkansas (89-62) ... The Minutemen claimed the other two wins against Harvard (69-63) and Clemson (82-65).
• UMass is shooting 38.5 percent from behind the arc and holding teams to just 27.4 percent ... In its three wins, BU has held opponents to 14.5 percent ... In the three losses, opponents shot 38.3 percent.
• UMass guard Jabarie Hinds is averaging 20.0 ppg with fellow guards Trey Davis (18.6 ppg) and Donte Clark (16.2 ppg) close behind ... BU is 1-2 when allowing an individual to reach 20 points with the victory coming against Binghamton (Willie Rodriguez had 26 points).
• Forward Zach Coleman leads UMass in rebounding at 7.6 rpg while averaging 9.0 ppg.
SERIES NOTES
• The teams are meeting for the 72nd time with UMass leading, 42-29 ... The Terriers have only played four other teams more often - Northeastern, New Hampshire, Maine and Vermont.

• Both teams were members of the Yankee Conference from 1972-76 and first met in 1903-04.
• UMass has won the last 11 meetings with the last victory occurring at the Mullins Center in 2010 (71-54) ... Despite the loss, the Terriers went on to win the America East and reach the NCAAs that year.
