The No. 8 Boston University men's rowing team continues its season this Saturday when it takes on Dartmouth and Rutgers in a race for the Bill Cup. This weekend's battle on the Charles River will mark the 54th race between the schools, making it BU's oldest cup competition.
After last week's thrilling Arlett Cup victory over rival Northeastern, the Terriers are hoping to continue their winning ways but they know it won't be easy against Rutgers and No. 15 Dartmouth.
"All of our boats raced well vs. NU this past weekend and we are looking to carry that momentum into our races on Saturday," said men's head rowing coach Thomas Bohrer. "Dartmouth will be tough this year. They have a new coach, Wyatt Allen who I have a tremendous amount of respect for and I know their boats will be energized to race us."
The Terriers will be looking for their second-consecutive cup win on this young spring season and their 10th straight Bill Cup victory dating back to 2006.
"We always look forward to racing for the Bill Cup," added Bohrer. "The race with Rutgers and Dartmouth is our oldest race so there is a lot of rowing tradition and great races between these schools."
The action will start with the varsity eight race for the Bill Cup beginning at 8:50 a.m. For fans who want to follow the action on Saturday, a live radio broadcast of the event beginning at 8:30 a.m. will be available by simply dialing (712) 432-4448 on your phone.
