Coming off a sweep of Dartmouth and Rutgers last weekend, the Boston University men's rowing team will continue its spring season vs. Syracuse and Columbia this Saturday morning on the Charles River.
Last season, the Terriers swept Columbia and Syracuse in Syracuse, N.Y, taking home the Lusins Cup (Columbia) and the Conlan Cup (Syracuse). With last year's victories, the Terriers now have won five of the last six Lusins Cup and three of the last four Conlan Cup races.
The No. 6 ranked Terriers are also coming off two-straight cup wins this season, having defeated Northeaster on April 12th for the Arlett Cup and Dartmouth and Rutgers last week for the Bill Cup.
"We had nice performance in all of our boats last week against Dartmouth and Rutgers," said head men's rowing coach Thomas Bohrer. "We want to continue that momentum this Saturday."
Saturday will be the Terriers final home race of the season as they head to Wisconsin to race the Badgers on May 2nd before competing in the Eastern Sprints in Worcester on May 17. The final home race of the year will mark the final competition at DeWolfe Boathouse for several seniors, who will be honored after the race.
"Since this is our last home race of the season, we will be honoring our six seniors after the racing," added Bohrer. "Lauren, Kep, Dan, Tomas, Gregor, and JP have been great role models for their teammates. This group has done nothing but work hard, hold a high level of integrity and always put the team above themselves. They have been loyal to the coaching staff and we want them to know how much we appreciate them."
