Terriers Battle URI and BC on Saturday

RESULTS
The Boston University women's rowing team took on URI and Boston College on Saturday in Kingston, R.I. in their final tune-up before the Eastern Sprints on May 3rd. The Terriers second varsity eight boat finished first in its race while the varsity eight finished third.
The competition was highlighted by the Terriers' victory in the second varsity eight race. Coxed by sophomore Marlaina Miller and stroked by senior Cydney Marks-Nicholes, the 2V finished with a time of 7:24.5, just ahead of URI (7:26.7) and three seconds ahead of BC (7:27.6).
Later in the day, the BU varsity eight boat, coxed by senior Eline Vermeulen and stroked by sophomore Emily Huber, finished with a time of 7:15 and in third place behind Rhode Island (7:05.8) and BC (7:09.3).
The Terriers' varsity four boat finished second with a time of 8:14.4, just two seconds behind BC (8:11.4) but ahead of URI (8:20.6). The third varsity eight boat was next and took fourth place with a time of 8:16.1, behind BC "A" (7:55.7), BC "B" (8:01.1) and URI (8:06.1).
The Terriers' next compete at the Eastern Sprints on May 3rd followed by the Patriot League Championship in Camden, N.J. on May 15. BU will be looking for its third-straight conference championship and third-straight automatic bid to the NCAA Championships held this year in Sacramento California starting May 29th.
