The Boston University men's rowing team will try and remain undefeated in cup racing this spring when they travel to Baraboo Wisconsin to face the Wisconsin Badgers for the Jablonic Cup on Saturday morning, followed by a race against Georgetown in the afternoon. Racing begins at 10:45 a.m. ET with the varsity eight cup race vs. Wisconsin on Devil's Lake.
The No. 6 ranked Terriers will be seeking their fifth straight cup win this spring and are looking to go undefeated in cup racing on the season.
"Our squad has raced well this spring and we have been able to execute and come away with some wins," said head men's rowing coach Thomas Bohrer. "We've had some really close racing with Wisco over the last several years and they are a tough team to go up against. They always race hard."
The Terriers will be trying to win the Jablonic Cup for the third-straight year having taken the cup in 2103 and 2014 on the Charles River. Overall, the Badgers have won 21 of the last 25 Jablonic Cup matches going back to 1989.
Saturday will be the teams' final competition before heading to Worcester, Mass. for the Eastern Sprints on May 17. The Terriers will then prepare for the IRA National Championship Regatta May 29-31.
"This weekend will be good a good test for us. We will also be racing Georgetown in the afternoon after Wisco, so having two races in one day will be similar to Sprints and good preparation for us."
