August 19, 2015 | Men's Swimming & Diving
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Boston Unviersity men’s swimming and diving alum Connor Stuewe earned a spot on the Patriot League 25th Anniversary Team, the conference announced on Wednesday morning.
With just two years to make his mark in the conference, Stuewe set and reset two league and meet records in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Last season Stuewe took home a pair of conference crowns, winning both events in Patriot League record times, which earned him Male Swimmer of the Meet distinction.
The Monterey, Calif. native earned a spot on the All-Patriot League first team during both his junior and senior seasons, helping the team to third-place showings in both years.
Fourteen honorees won at least one Patriot League Swimmer of the Meet award, with seven earning the distinction more than once, while four were named Patriot League Diver of the Meet with three of those honorees earning the award three times or more. Ten Anniversary Team members were also named to the Patriot League All-Decade Team for competition from 1990-2000, while the group has combined for 54 All-League honors (All-League Teams were not awarded in the first four seasons of Patriot League competition).
The Patriot League is releasing 25th Anniversary Teams throughout the month of August for each sport that has been sponsored by the League since it became an all-sport conference beginning in the 1990-91 season. In addition to the 25th Anniversary Teams, coverage throughout the 2015-16 season will focus on former student-athletes and top stories in the history of the Patriot League.
