August 21, 2015 | Women's Cross Country
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Boston University women’s cross country team was selected to finish second in the Patriot League women’s cross country preseason poll that was announced on Friday.
BU, the two-time defending conference champion, received eight first-place votes and earned 151 points, just one behind Bucknell, which collected 152 points and 11 first-place nods.
Navy was next with 130 points and the remaining first-place vote, followed by Army West Point (108), Holy Cross (102), Lehigh (89), American (63), Lafayette (41), Loyola (40) and Colgate (24).
The Terriers will be without back-to-back individual winner Rosa Moriello, but still return two All-Patriot League harriers in junior Sarah Saccoach and senior Shelby Stableford. Saccoach finished sixth at last year’s championship while Stableford placed ninth.
Voting was conducted by Patriot League cross country head coaches and sports information directors who could not select their own school. The 2015 Patriot League Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Colgate University at Harry Lang Cross Country Course in Hamilton, New York on Oct. 31 at 11 a.m.
