BOSTON - The Boston University women's cross country team continued its 2015 season on Friday afternoon at the Coast-to-Coast Battle of Beantown at Franklin Park.
BU finished 18th in the 24-team field that featured many of the nation's top teams. Providence won with a score of 42 points, followed by second-place Syracuse (127). The Terriers totaled 539 points, edged by Massachusetts for 17th by five points.
Junior Hallie Armstrong was once again the top Terrier in the field, finishing 87th in the 5K race with a time of 18:20.1. She was followed closely by senior Shelby Stableford, who took 90th with a time of 18:20.7. Freshman Courtney Breiner posted a time of 18:40.1 and classmate Cara Moyer crossed the finish line in 19:00.4.
Senior Erin Pierce had a time of 19:27.0, followed by freshman Jamie Grossman (19:34.1), sophomore Alexia Zawadzke (20:02.7), freshman Elin Wolker (20:12.7) and junior Colleen Tretheway (20:41.2).
The Terriers will be back at Franklin Park on Oct. 10 when they compete at the New England Championships.
