Terriers Take Ninth at Battle of Beantown

BOSTON - Led by four Terriers in the top 100, the Boston University men's cross country team finished ninth at the Coast-to-Coast Battle of Beantown on Friday afternoon at Franklin Park.
BU posted its second top-10 team performance of the season, recording 298 points in the 21-team field, edged by 10 points for eighth place by Brown (288). Syracuse won the 8K race with 24 points.
Senior Kevin Thomas was terrific for the second weekend in a row, finishing 23rd in a strong field with a time of 24:30.3. Freshman Alexander Seal, who was the Patriot League Rookie of the Week on Sept. 14, was 55th (25:01.6), followed by senior Alec Olson in 60th (25:04.4) and senior Paul Gennaro in 71st (25:18.8).
Junior Ethan Homan turned in a time of 25:53.1, with senior Syian Srikumar behind him in 26:35.6. Tom Cunningham made his 2015 debut on Friday, and the junior finished in 27:02.4. Two freshmen, Daniel Erickson (27:08.1) and Zachary Prescott (27:15.6), rounded out the BU contingent.
The Terriers will return to Franklin Park on Oct. 10 to compete in the New England Championships.
