This past summer has been one of kind! As a freshman, arriving on campus at the beginning of July was both nerve-racking and exciting. Hanging out with the entire team for the first time was a lot of fun and we all got along very well! The coaches and my teammates make workouts fun and I am beyond excited for our actual season to begin.
Over summer session, the team did many activities together including a beach trip and community service at a local camp in the area. My favorite part about the summer was definitely exploring the city with my teammates, Naiyah Thompson and Lauren Spearman. Sometimes we didn’t know exactly where we were going, but that made it fun!
The few weeks that we were able to go home before the fall semester went by quickly. I spent a lot of time hanging out with my mom before I was officially gone from the house for the next four years (I know she already misses me). I also spent a lot of time with my family, and I am definitely going to miss my two brothers the most.
One of my favorite parts of break was going to the beach with my dad and the road trip there with my best friend Carly. I also was able to see my two other friends, Kelly and Kelsey, before they both left for school early. Spending time with everyone before leaving was exactly what I needed and I enjoyed every moment home!
I returned back to campus at the end of August and was reunited with my team! Our first team activity was the Athlete BBQ and the Terrier Tailgate men’s soccer game, which was a lot of fun. It only has been a week into the school year and I am already enjoying basketball and school once again. Even though most of my time is spent with classes and basketball, I’ve made many new friends including my roommate and other floor mates!
It feels great to be back on campus and I know it is going to be a great first year here at BU!
