Highlighted by four top-10 finishes, the Boston University women's track & field team competed in the John Thomas Terrier Classic on Friday at the Track and Tennis Center.
The Terriers’ were led by their 4x400 relay team, made up of junior Toria Levy, freshman Ebony Brown, senior Christy Wood and senior Jade Paul, which finished fourth with a time of 3:44.23 in a large and deep filed of 51. Earlier in the meet, Wood took 12th in a field of 189 runners in the 200 meter dash with a personal-best time of 24.48.
Freshman Lovie Burleson continued her impressive rookie season, finishing first in the long jump with a 5.85 meter leap (19' 2.5”) to beat out 59 other competitors. She also ran a personal best time of 7.90 in the 60 meter dash to finish 26th in a field of 93 while fellow freshman Kennedy Jones finished fourth in the triple jump with a 11.88 meter effort.
Junior Toria Levy had a strong performance for the Terriers in the 60m hurdles, finishing in sixth-place with a time of 8.77 seconds. In the same event, sophomore Tehya Noell (8.96) and freshman Kennedy Jones (9.09) finished 13th and 18th, respectively, with Noell turning in a personal best.
Senior Jade Paul posted a personal-best performance in the 800m run (2:12.73) to finish 20th while freshman Ebony Brown (7.92) had a personal-best times in the 60m dash.
In addition, junior Djenne Parris finished the 400m dash in 56.68 seconds, which was also a personal-best mark.
