BOSTON – Seeking its fifth-straight home victory, the Boston University men's basketball team will host Canisius on Wednesday night with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m. The contest will mark the nightcap of a doubleheader, as the women's squad will first host Dartmouth at 5:30 p.m.

- BU is 4-0 at home this season with wins over Northeastern (65-63), Maine (102-78), LIU Brooklyn (86-69) and Western New England (91-54).
- The Terriers last opened with at least four straight home victories in 1996-97 when they went a perfect 9-0 in conference play ... BU last started with four straight non-conference victories at home in 1994-95 and added a conference victory to extend streak to five before finally losing.
- BU will try to snap a three-game losing streak in which it fell on the road at St. Peter's (80-67), UConn (51-49) and NC State (77-73) by an average deficit of 5.3 ppg.
- Senior Eric Fanning scored a game-high 21 points against the Huskies and led BU for the fourth time in scoring this season with 16 points against the Wolfpack to post a team-high average of 15.0 ppg and 51.9 FG%.
- Junior Cheddi Mosely tallied 12 points on Saturday at NCSU and is the other Terrier in double figures at 10.3 ppg while averaging 2.3 made 3-pointers per game.
- Sophomore Kyle Foreman (7.0 ppg) tallied a career-high 21 points at SPU and later dished out a personal-best nine assists at NCSU to push his assists average to 4.1 apg.
- Freshman Tyler Scanlon (7.0 ppg, 3.6 rpg) was one rebound shy of the team's second double-double this season against the Wolfpack with 15 points.
- Junior Nick Havener remains the team leader in rebounding at 6.6 rpg with Fanning (5.1 rpg) and senior Justin Alston (4.8 rpg) close behind to help BU claim a positive rebounding margin of 3.5.
- The Terriers are shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 32.4 percent in 3-point territory but have pushed those percentages higher at home to 51.0 percent and 41.0 percent, respectively.
- The Golden Griffins are resuming non-conference play after splitting two MAAC games last weekend, a 77-76 win at Manhattan and 94-88 loss at Monmouth.
- As a team, Canisius is 3-3 on the road, collecting other victories at Duquesne (78-77) and Youngstown State (90-84) with losses to Kentucky (93-69) and Cleveland State (67-64).
- Canisius is averaging 74.1 ppg while shooting 44.8 percent, but opponents are averaging 79.4 ppg and 48.8 percent.
- Four men have started in all eight games while the leading scorer, 6-foot-3 guard Kassius Robertson (16.6 ppg), has started seven contests.
- Both 6-foot-6 forward Jermaine Crumpton (16.4 ppg) and 6-foot-7 forward Phil Valenti (11.9 ppg) are both averaging double figures with Valenti also averaging a team-high 6.1 rpg.
- Four Griffs have recorded at least 21 assists apiece, and the passing has helped Canisius average 8.8 made 3-pointers per game and a 37.2 3FG%.
- BU leads the all-time series, 14-10, as the two teams were previously members of the America East (then known as the ECAC North) from 1979-89 ... Canisius joined the MAAC the following year, and BU joined the Patriot League in the summer of 2013.

- The Griffs snapped a four-game losing streak in the series in 2012 with an 83-75 home win after BU posted a 70-62 victory at home in the 2011 BracketBusters ... Canisius followed up last season with an 84-68 victory, as Valenti posted a game-high 21 points.
- Canisius only shot 39 percent but earned 42 trips to the free throw line to help claim the victory.
