Perkins Named Assistant Coach of Men’s Rowing

Four-time IRA National Championship Team member Alex Perkins has been hired as assistant coach of the Boston University men's rowing team, head coach Tom Bohrer announced this week. Perkins is a 2015 graduate of the University of Washington where he was a member of the Huskies' 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 division 1 National Championship teams.
"I am very excited to have Alex join the men's rowing coaching staff," said men's head rowing coach Tom Bohrer. "Alex has had a very successful high school, collegiate, and U23 rowing career. He is very passionate about rowing and starting a career in coaching. Alex will bring a wealth of rowing experience, new perspective and enthusiasm to our program and I look forward to him working with our team."
Perkins will work closely with coach Bohrer and associate head coach John Lindberg in the training of all team athletes. The Westport, Conn. native will assist in the team's recruiting efforts and day-to-day operations of the team.
During his collegiate career at Washington, Perkins sat in the stroke seat for the Huskies' varsity eight boat that won the grand final at the IRAs in his freshman, sophomore and senior seasons and was also a four-time Henley Royal Regatta Finalist.
