Gugel, Luevano Named PL Rookies of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Freshmen Paul Luevano and Abigail Gugel of the Boston University men's and women's cross country teams were named Patriot League Rookies of the Week, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.
Both harriers shined in their respective collegiate debuts on Saturday at the Nassaney Invitational. Luevano outpaced the field by 32 seconds to capture the individual title while Gugel finished second in the women's race with a time of 18:19. The Terrier men were victorious on Saturday while Gugel led the women to a third-place finish.
BU will return to competition on Oct. 8 when the Terriers take part in the New England Championships at Franklin Park.
