BOSTON—Highlighted by a visit to 2016 NCAA Final Four participant Syracuse and a home and away series with crosstown rival Northeastern, sixth-year Boston University men's basketball head coach Joe Jones has released the team's 2016-17 schedule.
The Terriers are coming off their fifth postseason appearance in eight years in which they advanced to the second round of the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) and will be challenged by a schedule featuring former NCAA champions UConn, Syracuse and NC State. They will open the season on Friday, Nov. 11 at Northeastern, their most frequent opponent in program history, and then host the Huskies in a rematch in the home opener one week later on Friday, Nov. 18.
In total, BU will compete in 30 regular season contests with 15 taking place at Case Gym. The home matchup against Northeastern will mark the opening contest of the Steve Wright Classic, which will also include Maine and LIU Brooklyn and coincide with the annual BU men's basketball alumni weekend.
Season tickets for men's basketball will be $99 for the general public with special pricing for faculty/staff ($78) and young alumni ($52). Last year's season ticket holders can renew by logging into their Agganis Arena account on Ticketmaster.com.
