Terrier Men, Women Tabbed Third in PL Preseason Polls

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. - Both the Boston University men's and women's cross country teams were picked to finish third in their respective Patriot League preseason poll, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Terrier men, who finished second last season, were tabbed third by the conference's coaches and sports information directors after finishing with 129 points, six points shy of second-place Army West Point. Defending champion Navy was the unanimous favorite. Lehigh was picked to finish fourth (114 points), followed by Bucknell (89), American (60), Holy Cross (60), Lafayette (49), Colgate (37) and Loyola Maryland (22).

On the women's side, the Terriers were chosen third after claiming that same spot in last year's championship meet. Bucknell was predicted to repeat as champion, with Navy receiving the other four first-place votes. Holy Cross trailed BU in fourth (106 points), followed by Army West Point (100), Lehigh (88), American (78), Loyola Maryland (37), Lafayette (37) and Colgate (20).
Both squads will make their 2016 debut on Saturday when they compete in the Nassaney Invitational hosted by Bryant.
