ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Highlighted by a season-high 19 steals and junior Will Goff's personal-best four 3-pointers, the Boston University men's basketball team cruised to a 71-53 victory at Navy on Thursday night. With their first road win of the season, the Terriers improve to 8-7 and remain perfect in Patriot League play at 3-0.

TURNING POINT
- Leading 38-30 with 15:40 left, junior Will Goff hit three 3-pointers during a 13-0 run over the following four minutes to help BU pull away for the win.
- The Terriers led by as many as 29 with 3:31 remaining before the Mids hit four treys down the stretch to put the final deficit at 18 points.
THE SETUP
- Navy jumped out to an 8-2 lead, as the Terriers went 5:55 without a field goal.
- The Mids grabbed their final lead (14-13) at 11:11 on a layup by Edward Alade.
- Senior Justin Alston hit two free throws at 9:06 and added a layup at 7:34 on senior Eric Fanning's assist to give BU the lead for good.
- Both teams shot below 40 percent in the first half, but BU owned a 30-22 halftime lead by going 8-of-9 at the line.
- The Terriers only went to the line four times in the second half, but they shot 16-of-27 (.593) and 8-of-16 from behind the arc en route to the victory.
GAME NOTES
- Six Terriers had at least two steals, including a personal-best five steals from sophomore Kyle Foreman, en route to a season-high 19 steals, two shy of the school record set in 1989 and four shy of the Patriot League record ... BU had more than 15 steals in a game for the first time since posting 15 against Morehead State during the 2010 CBI quarterfinals.
- Goff finished with a career-high four 3-pointers and two points shy of his personal best, while junior Cedric Hankerson also had four 3-pointers.
- The Terriers forced Navy into 27 turnovers after the Mids tallied 30 total in the previous two contests against Bucknell and Holy Cross.
- BU snapped a six-game road losing streak by handing the Mids their worst home loss of the season ... Navy was 5-2 at home entering the game with only one double-digit loss to Ohio State (78-68).
- Now 8-1 all-time against Navy, the Terriers have opened Patriot League play 3-0 for the third time in four years.
NEXT UP
- One of two teams still unbeaten in the PL standings alongside Bucknell, the Terriers will seek their fourth-straight win at Lafayette on Sunday (Jan. 8) with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
