EASTON, Pa. – Riding a three-game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will conclude a two-game road trip at Lafayette on Sunday with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
TERRIER TIDBITS
- The Terriers are looking to open conference play 4-0 for the second time in four years and match the 2013-14 squad's 6-0 start ... BU last started 3-0 in 2014-15 before being edged by Lafayette at home, 63-62.
- They have held three straight opponents below 62 points for the first time since 2012-13 when BU defeated Binghamton (79-58), Vermont (64-59) and New Hampshire (68-56) during a six-game win streak in the America East.
- Senior Justin Alston is currently third on the team in scoring at 11.0 ppg after posting double figures in a personal-best five consecutive games ... Over the last five contests, he is averaging 15.8 ppg while shooting 58.9 percent from the field.
- Senior Eric Fanning leads BU at 12.4 ppg and is just 20 points away from reaching the 1,000-point milestone as a Terrier, while junior Cedric Hankerson (11.4 ppg) is 161 points away.
- Sophomore Kyle Foreman (6.0 ppg) had seven points, six assists and a career-high five steals on Thursday, as BU posted 19 steals, two shy of the school record set in 1989 ... He leads the Terriers in assists at 4.9 apg.
- The win at Navy snapped a six-game road losing streak ... The Terriers need one more win to match an earlier four-game win streak from November.
- In the three PL games, BU is shooting 45.2 percent and holding opponents to 35.1 percent.
- The Leopards are riding a two-game win streak with victories at Loyola Maryland (78-69) and vs. Army West Point (79-74) ... Overall, they are 3-5 at home with an 84-83 overtime win over NJIT and 104-67 victory against Moravian.
- Lafayette's home losses came against Drexel (74-70), Cornell (82-75), Princeton (71-55), Sacred Heart (85-61) and Colgate (85-750.
- The Leopards shared one non-conference opponent with BU in Saint Peter's ... The Leopards won on the road, 61-57, back on Nov. 14 before the Terriers fell, 80-67 on Nov. 28.
- Matt Klinewski leads Lafayette in both scoring (16.7 ppg), second best in the PL, and rebounding (6.1 rpg) while shooting 54.4 percent from the field ... Nick Lindner is the other Leopard in double-figure scoring at 13.6 ppg while also averaging 5.1 assists, second most in the PL.
- Lafayette is averaging 69.9 ppg and is shooting 44.3 percent ... They Leopards are holding opponents to 77.1 ppg and 45.1 FG%, respectively.
- The Leopards own a negative rebounding margin of 6.6 rpg.
- BU leads the all-time series, 8-6, dating back to 1948-49 and is 6-2 since joining the Patriot League in the summer of 2013.
- The Terriers eliminated the Leopards in the quarterfinals of 2014 but were eliminated themselves by Lafayette in the 2015 quarterfinals.
- BU came back in 2016 with a sweep, first posting a 68-47 win at home and then claiming an 89-82 overtime victory on the road.
- The Terriers trailed by four with 1:04 left in regulation before Nathan Dieudonne ('16) had a slam dunk at 42s and hit two free throws with three seconds remaining.
