Abdullah Leads 3-Point Barrage as Terriers Roll Past Colgate, 85-58
February 16, 2026 | Men's Basketball
BOSTON - Sophomore Azmar Abdullah exploded for a career-high 26 points on a perfect 8-for-8 performance from three-point range to lead the Boston University men's basketball team to a convincing 85-58 win over visiting Colgate on Monday evening at Case Gym.
The Terriers (13-15, 8-7 PL) connected on 18 3-pointers, matching a school record set nine years ago, and led wire-to-wire to stretch their win streak to five and help head coach Joe Jones (2011-pres.) move into a tie with Dennis Wolff (1994-2009) for the program record of 247 career wins. The Raiders (16-12, 10-5 PL) entered the matchup shooting 48.5 percent from the field but could never get into a rhythm offensively, as they finished under 40.0 FG% for the first time this season at 20-for-58 (.345).
Totaling at least 20 points for the first time this season, Abdullah matched the best perfect three-point showing in the NCAA this season, as Colorado State's Josh Pascarelli went 8-for-8 back on Nov. 28 against South Florida. Junior Michael McNair claimed his second career double-double off 15 points and 10 rebounds alongside four assists, while freshman Sam Hughes recorded 16 points with the help of five 3-pointers. Sophomore Ben Defty also scored in double-digits at 10 total and combined with freshman Chance Gladden for 12 assists.
For Colgate, Ben Tweedy recorded 13 points and combined with Kyle Carlesimo (12 pts.) for seven buckets from behind the arc. Leading scorer Jalen Cox (17.2 ppg) finished with just 10 points on 4-for-14 shooting, while Andrew Alekseyenko came up just short of a double-double at nine points and nine rebounds. The Raiders went 9-for-21 3FG (.429) but inside the 3-point line shot 11-for-37 (.297), as BU made their lives difficult near the hoop with five blocks.
