BOSTON – Riding a season-high five game win streak, the Boston University men's basketball team will visit Lehigh on Sunday with the CBS Sports Network broadcast set for a 12 p.m. start time.

With only three games remaining, the contest carries a lot of importance, as both programs are currently in a three-way tie for third at 8-7 alongside American. Colgate is alone in second at 11-5, while Loyola Maryland is in sixth at 7-9, half a game ahead of Lafayette (6-9).

TERRIER TIDBITS

BU is off to its best start in February since posting a perfect 8-0 record in 2011.
Ranking fourth nationally at 46.0 3FG%, junior Michael McNair (16.8 ppg) owns 92 3-pointers, three away from tying John Papale's ('16) season record. He's also 30 points away from becoming the first Terrier to reach 500 points since Javante McCoy ('22) and Sukhmail Mathon ('22) both hit the mark in 2021-22.
Sophomore Ben Defty (14.6 ppg) ranks third shooting 68.0 percent from the field and leads BU with 45 blocks while averaging a team-high 6.9 rpg.
Freshman Chance Gladden (13.6 ppg) ranks eighth nationally among rookies with 132 assists, while classmate Sam Hughes (9.9 ppg) is seventh with 64 3-pointers.
Shooting a perfect 8-for-8 3FG during Monday's 85-58 win vs. Colgate, sophomore Azmar Abdullah has helped BU rank seventh at 39.9 3FG% and 42nd in made 3FGs per game at 9.8.
The Terriers are 5-10 away from Case Gym, earning key non-conference wins at Northeastern and vs. Harvard in Connecticut. During PL play, they've claimed wins at Lafayette, Holy Cross and Army with two losses occurring in OT at Bucknell (2OT) and Colgate.
BU is averaging 76.6 ppg and 49.0 FG% while holding opponents to 74.9 ppg and 46.3 FG%. The Terriers have held their last nine opponents under 70 points in regulation.

SCOUTING LEHIGH

The Mountain Hawks own an 8-4 record at home compared to 4-12 away mark with non-conference victory vs. Saint Francis. They are 5-2 at home vs. the Patriot League with both losses occurring in overtime to Navy (2OT) and Army.
Four Mountain Hawks are averaging double figures in points with 6-foot-2 Nasir Whitlock owning a team-high 20.2 ppg that ranks 28th nationally). Both he and 6-foot-4 Joshua Ingram (10.6 ppg) are averaging a combined 6.1 apg and 2.8 spg.
6-foot-9 Hank Alvey (14.2 ppg) ranks 44th nationally averaging 1.8 bpg and is 94th at 200 total rebounds so far.
Overall, Lehigh is currently averaging 72.6 ppg and 45.5 FG% while holding opponents to 75.0 ppg and 44.7 percent.

SERIES HISTORY

BU leads the all-time series, 17-11, after Lehigh edged the Terriers, 93-91, in OT back in January.
Whitlock scored 30 points, including a deep banked shot to send the game to OT, while Defty (26) and McNair (24) combined for 50.
The Terriers earned a sweep last year with 63-58 home win and 79-68 road victory. They will try to avoid being swept by the Mountain Hawks for the first time since the 2018-19 campaign.
BU is 2-0 in the PL quarterfinals, while the Mountain Hawks are 2-0 in the PL semifinals with both wins occurring in overtime.

LOOKING AHEAD

The Terriers will return to Case Gym Wednesday night (Feb. 25) for their final home game of the regular season with Holy Cross making a visit at 7 p.m..
BU claimed a 72-64 win at the Hart Center back on Feb. 2 to start off the current five-game win streak.
Shooting 54.3 FG%, BU finished ahead in made 3FGs (10-8) and in made FTs (12-6) to overcome an 11-2 disadvantage in points off turnovers.
