October 1, 2026 | Men's Basketball
BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Senior Kyrone Alexander of the Boston University men's basketball team was named to the 2026-27 Preseason All-Patriot League Team, the League announced Thursday morning.
Â
Along with the Preseason All-Patriot League announcement, the Terriers were also picked by the League's head coaches to finish third, tied with Colgate.
Â
Alexander, a Bridgetown, Barbados native, missed almost all the 2025-26 season after suffering an injury in the first game of the season. In 2024-25, the guard was named to the Second Team All-Patriot League after averaging 12.9 points per game and 5.1 rebounds per game while shooting 41.1 percent from the field and 80.0 percent from the stripe. In Patriot League games, Alexander ranked in the top 20 of all League players with 12.5 points per game, 5.2 rebounds per game and 1.2 steals per game. This is his second consecutive year garnering preseason Patriot League honors.
Â
The coaches picked American to finish at the top of the League, as the Eagles garnered 81 points, including nine first place votes. Defending tournament champion Lehigh followed with 72 points and a single first-place vote. The Terriers and Raiders were next with 61 points, and were followed by Navy (42 points), Bucknell (39), Lafayette (29), Holy Cross (28), Loyola Maryland (26) and Army West Point (11).
Â
Terrier head coach Joe Jones enters his 16th season leading the program and has brought in seven newcomers, including transfers from Penn and Brandeis, and returns key pieces from a run to the Patriot League Championship game in junior Azmar Abdullah (8.3 ppg), sophomore Sam Hughes (9.0 ppg) and sophomore Donte Tisinger Jr. (6.4 ppg).Â
Â
The first contest of the 2026-27 campaign is slated for Monday, Nov. 2 against Northeastern at Case Gym, with a time to be announced at a later date.
