KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the fifth consecutive season, both the men's and women's soccer programs earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches (formerly known as the NSCAA). The award is the highest academic team award a program can earn and was given to those that boasted a grade point average of 3.0 or greater during the 2016-17 academic year.
A combined total of 851 soccer teams (301 men, 550 women) from the NCAA, NCCAA and NAIA were recognized, and BU was one of just 215 schools to have both of its programs honored.
Guided by head coach Nancy Feldman, the Terrier women earned a GPA of 3.41 for their ninth-straight honor, while the men under head coach Neil Roberts claimed their fifth-consecutive award with a 3.33 GPA.
