The Office of the University Registrar supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Boston University by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and the evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, provide services to veterans, and oversee production of the Bulletin and the Degree Advice system.

The Boston University Police Department is a full-time, professional law enforcement agency that also provides a wide variety of public services, including alarms, emergency medical assistance, investigating suspicious circumstances, and responding to and investigating criminal matters. Patrols are conducted throughout the Boston University area twenty-four hours a day and span an area that includes over 132 acres of University-owned property and surrounding streets. Emergency response time is generally under three minutes to any location on campus.

Boston University students, staff, and faculty are urged to report all crimes and emergency situations as promptly as possible—whether they occur on or off campus—to the Boston University Police Department. Prompt reporting will help the department address emergency situations and provide notice to the University community where appropriate. Telephone stickers with the emergency number are distributed to residences and to faculty and staff offices. This information is also printed on the back of all Terrier ID cards.
