BOSTON – Senior Kat Slott set a new career high with her third goal of the season as the Boston University women's soccer program tied Providence 1-1 on Sunday afternoon at Nickerson Field.

BU (2-4-1) struck first on a penalty kick that Slott drew in the 33rd minute. However, the Friars (2-0-5) responded in the second half with Signe Tingager's tally in the 71st minute and withstood a Terrier flurry in the final 12 minutes.

Slott and three other Terriers recorded two shots in the game. BU had 14 total shots, six of which were on target.

Makenna Foley and Jocy Koffi had the assists on Tingager's tally. Maria Ravotti and Caitlin Daley combined for three saves in net.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior Jaiden Schultz whipped the first shot of the game just 30 seconds after opening kick as her try rolled wide right of the right post.
Sophomore Georgia Prouty bolted into the box to feed senior Samantha Aronson, who appeared to find the back of the net. However, the side judge ruled the Terrier offside in the 32nd minute.
Just a minute later, however, Ravotti took down Slott in the box as she caught up to a volley. On the penalty kick, Slott tucked her shot into the upper-right corner for a 1-0 advantage.
BU went into the locker room up 1-0 after sophomore goalkeeper Jill Humphrey punched out a service into the box. Moments afterward, classmate Ariana Schwinn-Clanton blocked Samantha Kolb's long-distance chance.
The Terriers controlled possession early in the second half as sophomore Nina Tzouganatos ripped a 20-yard shot onto Daley in the 50th minute.
Providence's best offensive opportunity came in the 63rd minute when Thaea Mouratidis ripped a five-yard shot off the crossbar. BU eventually tightened up to force a goal kick.
The visitors leveled the score eight minutes later, however. Foley dished off to Koffi in the left slot and she led Tingager into the upper-left corner of the box. She poked a shot off the right post and into the back of the net.
In the 81st minute, the Terriers had four prime chances. On a corner kick that Aronson inserted, Schwinn-Clanton waited by the left post and flicked a shot that a Friar marker save. Thirty seconds later, junior Olivia Avellar was robbed on another team save in the same vicinity.
Slott headed the final offensive opportunity for BU narrowly wide left in the 87th minute.

STATS

BU posted a 14-7 advantage in shots, including 6-1 on target.
Corner kicks also favored the Terriers, 4-2.
BU was called offside four times.
Overall, the Friars collected five saves.
Neither side sustained a yellow card.

NOTES

Slott surpasses her personal best of two goals from her 2024 campaign. She moves into a tie for the team lead with Schultz at three goals this year.
BU earned its first draw since Sept. 27, 2025, a span of 16 matches.
In the last three contests, the Terriers have outshot their opponents 47-26.
The all-time series moves to 6-2-1 in BU's favor.
