NEW ORLEANS - Both the Boston University men's and women's cross country teams earned All-Academic status from the USTFCCCA, as announced on Feb. 9.
The women's team combined for a grade-point average of 3.42 in the fall to qualify for this honor, while then men recorded a 3.25 GPA. This comes after 15 women and 11 men were named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for compiling a GPA of 3.20 or higher.
In addition, junior Alexander Seal of the men's cross country team was selected to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, Seal was outstanding both in competition and in the classroom this past fall. He earned USTFCCCA All-Region honors after he finished 19th at the NCAA Northeast Regional with a time of 32:30.8, his best finish at an NCAA event. Majoring in environmental analysis & policy, Seal achieved a grade-point average of 3.78.
In order to qualify for the honor, athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American in the national meet.
Earlier this year, Courtney Breiner earned her second straight spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team for her efforts both in competition and in the classroom.
