SARASTOA, Fla. - Highlighted by senior Phyllis Tang's one-under 71 on Sunday, the Boston University golf team competed at the Harvard Invitational this past weekend at The Oaks Club.
Tang tied for third thanks to a career-low 54-hole score of 221 (76-74-71), just three shots back of the champion. In her final round on Sunday, Tang tallied two birdies and just one bogey en route to a 71 and her third straight top-10 finish. Her score of 221 was one shot better than the 222 she carded at this same tournament last year.
As a team, BU combined to finish seventh in the 11-team field with a 933 (318-317-298), breaking 300 on Sunday for the second time this spring. Sophomore Abby Parsons finished strong with a final-round 75 to place 27th with a 236 (80-81-75). Freshman Katerina Doleckova tied for 31st with a 238 (78-80-80) while junior Megan Carter tied for 42nd (84-82-77--243). Sophomore Zhangcheng Guo also fired a final-round 75 to move up to 53rd (88-90-75--253).
BU will face Yale on Friday, April 13, before beginning the two-day, 36-hole Hartford Invitational on Saturday, April 14. That will be the final tournament before the Patriot League Championship at Navy (April 21-22).
