
Terriers Hold Off St. John's to Win UAlbany Invitational

DELMAR, N.Y. - The Boston University women's golf team closed out its fall schedule in winning fashion, holding off a late charge from St. John's on Monday to win the title at the UAlbany Great Danes Invitational at Normanside Country Club.
The Terriers won by three strokes, posting a score of 593 (286-307) in the two-round tournament that had a field of 14 teams.
BU had three golfers finish in the top 10 and were led by junior Amy Han's runner-up finish with a 1-over 141 (69-72). Freshman Sophia Zhang placed third with a 6-over 146 after two rounds of 73 while senior Annika Manjunath was part of a three-way tie for eighth with a 10-over 150 (70-80).
Junior Hibiki Adachi secured a top-20 finish with a 156 (74-82), placing her in a tie for 16th. Freshman Wendy Li finished tied for 26th at 159 (75-84).
Han and Manjunath led the way for BU in birdies for the tournament with seven and five, respectively, while Zhang was the steadiest player in the field with 28 pars - three more than any other golfer.
At last year's UAlbany Invitational, the Terriers finished just one stroke behind Seton Hall for the title.
