BOSTON - Two Terriers are set to join the Boston University women's basketball team next season as Sophie Beneventine and Kelsi Mingo have signed their National Letters of Intent, head coach Marisa Moseley announced Wednesday.
Mingo is a 5-8 guard from Boca Raton, Florida, who has led her high school squad to three straight district championships. Also, a 5-8 guard, Beneventine is a sharpshooter and a product of Basking Ridge, New Jersey.
"I am extremely excited to introduce the Boston University Women's Basketball class of 2024," exclaimed Moseley. "These two young women are tenacious competitors, and when they step on the floor they expect to win in everything they do. They are each the epitome of a BU women's basketball player and are perfect fits for our program. It is my pleasure to welcome both Sophie and Kelsi to the BU family as we continue our pursuit of championships."

Moseley on Mingo:
"Her skill, length and athleticism are just a few of the characteristics that make Kelsi so special. The first time I saw Kelsi, it was clear she was a unique player due to her versatility and high motor. She plays every possession like it's the last and her competitive nature is exactly what I was looking for in a BU women's basketball player. Kelsi's best days are ahead of her and I am so grateful I get the opportunity to watch her growth and development in a Terrier uniform."

"Despite her quiet demeanor, Sophie's drive and competitive spirit are just a few of the attributes that will make her a favorite of teammates and fans alike.
