HOW IT HAPPENED
- BU missed its first seven field goal attempts before Whyte flushed his first of four 3-pointers at 16:20 to cut SUNY Poly's lead to 8-4.
- 2019 All-NEAC First Team honoree Josh Gregory flushed a trey of his own on the next possession, but Whyte drained his second to spark a 17-2 run capped by junior Andrew Petcash's 3-pointer at 10:38.
- Owning a five-point lead (23-18) with under nine to play in the first half, sophomore Jack Hemphill hit from downtown, as BU went on a game-changing 28-3 run capped by Whyte's slam dunk at 1:38.
- The Wildcats would never cut the deficit below 20 points the rest of the contest with BU grabbing its largest lead at 3:35 (91-59) in the second half.
- Petcash was the fourth in double figures for BU at 11 points.
- Freshman Ethan Brittain-Watts tied Whyte for most minutes played on the team at 24 while contributing two of BU's 18 assists.
- Hemphill posted nine points and six boards, while sophomore Fletcher Tynen contributed three points, three assists and six rebounds in his first appearance of the season.
- Senior Adam Mikula, freshman Tarkan Taboglu, freshman Michael Quinn and freshman Tim Uzoegbu also saw their first action of the season.
- The Terriers finished 35-of-69 (.507) from the field and 11-of-25 (.440) in 3-point territory, while the Wildcats went 23-of-56 (.411) and 2-of-10 (.200), respectively.
- BU outscored the Wildcats off turnovers (19-9) and in the paint (48-38).
- Gregory led SUNY Poly with 17 points and six rebounds.
- The Terriers will next hit the road for the first time with a trek to defending America East champion Vermont on Wednesday (Nov. 13) at 7 p.m.
- The Catamounts pulled out a 78-72 win at Case Gym last year in the first regular season meeting between the two former conference foes since BU claimed a 64-59 road victory in 2013.
