June 25, 2019 | General, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball
For the 12th straight year, GoTerriers.com will once again count down the top 12 achievements of Boston University teams and student-athletes from the previous year. Check back each Tuesday and Friday as we reveal this year's Terrier Twelve.
Checking at No. 11 in this year's Terrier 12 is the College of Communication's partnership with Boston University Basketball.
COM's BUTV10 was recognized in four categories, earning three wins and an honorable mention at The Boston / New England Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Highlighting the collection of awards was BUTV10's production of Boston University Basketball winning for Best Live Sports Event.
Now completing the sixth year of this collaborative initiative, the two BU entities partner to produce more than 120 live broadcasts for 17 different teams each year. This includes 26 men's and women's basketball broadcasts on the New England Sports Network (NESN) and Patriot League Network (PLN).
The BUTV10 production crew is the only all-student crew in the Patriot League and the only all-student crew among the four NCAA Division I schools in Boston.
The women's basketball program saw a resurgence under first-year head coach Marisa Moseley, who led BU to its first winning season in five years en route to to being named the Patriot League Coach of the Year. On the men's side, Max Mahoney and Tyler Scanlon each surpassed the 1,000-point milestone with Mahoney also setting a new program record in field goal shooting percentage (62.9).
