LEWISBURG, Pa. – Looking to knock off the Patriot League front runner once again, the Boston University women's basketball team came up short as it dropped a 55-53 decision against Bucknell Saturday afternoon at Sojka Pavilion.

- Bucknell hit on six of its first seven field goal attempts to stake an early 14-6 edge.
- Riley Childs sunk a 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the first, giving BU a shot of energy as the score held at 23-13.
- Katie Nelson continued the momentum, willing her way to the basket with back-to-back drives to kick off the second quarter.
- Sydney Johnson put in five straight points, while Maggie Pina hit two from the free throw line to give the Terriers their first lead, 24-23, with 5:05 remaining until the break.
- BU's defense was stellar in the second quarter, limiting the Bison to shoot just 7.7 percent (1-of-13) from the floor as it maintained a one-point advantage, 26-25, heading into the locker room.
- Bucknell turned the tide to start the second half, using an 11-2 run to go back up by double figures, 38-28, with 3:43 left in the frame.
- Pina breathed life into the Terriers, netting back-to-back triples, and Nelson sealed an 8-0 run with two makes from the charity stripe to cut the gap to 38-36 at the end of the third.
- Nia Irving slotted an inbounds pass before Pina connected again from downtown, putting BU on top, 41-40, with 7:07 remaining.
- Bucknell utilized a pair of 5-0 runs to go up by five, 52-47, with two minutes to go.
- Following two free throws by the Bison, Pina stroked her fourth 3-pointer to put the Terriers within one with 26 seconds left.
- Down to its final possession, BU was blocked on the potential game-tying shot at the buzzer.
- Pina led the team with 17 points, while Durant led with nine rebounds.
- Nelson brought her career total to 305 helpers and is now No. 10 in career assists in program history.
- BU held an opponent to two points in a quarter for the third time since moving to the quarters system five seasons ago.
- With Colgate's loss to Army, BU still remains in second place in the Patriot League standings.
- With a win against Army on Wednesday, the Terriers would clinch the No. 2 seed in the Patriot League Tournament.
