HOW IT HAPPENED
- After Army jumped out to an early 7-2 advantage, Whyte flushed a 3-pointer and converted on redshirt-freshman Daman Tate's steal with a jumper to tie the game at 15:36.
- Facing a 9-9 stalemate, King recorded a layup, steal and fastbreak bucket to spark a 10-0 run capped by Caldwell's layup at 8:37.
- With the help of a four-point play from freshman Miles Brewster, the Terriers chipped away at the double-digit deficit and eventually pulled within three (26-23) at 2:14 on senior Sukhmail Mathon's layup.
- Army though scored the final six points of the half with the help of four free throws to move ahead, 32-23.
- After Whyte's layup cut Army's lead to 38-30 at 16:11 in the second half, the Black Knights pulled away with a 16-0 run over the next seven minutes.
- Making his first career start, junior Jack Hemphill recorded seven points and posted a team-high six rebounds alongside Whyte.
- Having used a different starting lineup in all five contests, the Terriers were without regular starters Javante McCoy, Jonas Harper and Fletcher Tynen.
- Freshman Anthony Morales netted his first career points with two 3-pointers.
- BU finished the game 12-of-32 (.375) from behind the arc after shooting 1-of-29 last Sunday against Colgate.
- Army posted a 50-16 advantage in points in the paint and outscored the Terriers off turnovers, 20-8.
- The teams will wrap up the home weekend series on Sunday with the ESPN+ broadcast set for 1 p.m.
- BU is scheduled to play two games at Christl Arena on Feb. 13-14.
