BU Races at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Boston University men's cross country team competed at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday morning at the West Windsor Fields.
BU placed sixth in the 21-team field with 188 points, tied with the host Tigers and well clear of eighth-place Lehigh (237 points). Villanova won the event with 32 points.
Sophomore Matthew Mason led the Terriers in 16th with an 8K time of 24:49.8. Two other Terriers crossed the line in the top 30, as junior Kevin Murphy (25:02.6) was 24th and senior Marcel Aubry (25:14.6) finished 29th.
Sophomores Robert Hannon (25:46.1) and Alex Brown (25:46.7) rounded out the Terrier scorers in 68th and 70th, respectively. Junior Foster Malleck was 76th in the 224-person field with a time of 25:52.0. Junior Mike Hagen crossed the line in 82nd with a mark of 25:56.3, followed by senior Aksel Laudon (26:02.1) in 94th and sophomore Spencer Twyman (26:07.4) in 102nd. Juniors Charlie Hammel (26:36.1) and Alec Block (26:36.5) also raced.
Saturday's meet was the final tune-up before the Patriot League Championship, which will take place on Oct. 31 at Lehigh.
