Terriers Take Third at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Boston University women's cross country team finshed third at the Princeton Invitational on Saturday morning at the West Windsor Fields.
BU totaled 117 points, seven clear of fourth-place Stony Brook and behind only Princeton (39 points) and Dartmouth (99). The Terriers were well ahead of Lafayette (398), the only other Patriot League school in the 21-team field.
Junior Andrea Claeson, last year's Patriot League runner-up, placed 10th in her season debut with a 6.1K time of 21:54.1. Graduate student Corinne Batsu was right behind her in 13th with a time of 21:57.7. Graduate student Madeline Bachmann also finished in the top 25, crossing the line in 25th thanks to a time of 22:26.9.
Senior Meghan Convery was 34th with a time of 22:39.1, followed by graduate student Veronica Kriss (22:46.7) in 38th and senior Angela Castronuovo (23:17.1) in 53rd. Sophomore Daisy Liljegren (23:39.4) and freshman Sarah Hanifin (23:41.1) were 72nd and 74th, respectively in the 189-runner field. Senior Kalie Mathis (23:52.8) was 81st, with sophomore Addie Marple (24:03.1) in 92nd. Sophomores Claire Wilson (24:44.9) and Janelle Williams (25:37.1) also competed.
Saturday's race was the final tune-up before the Terriers compete for a third straight Patriot League Championship on Oct. 31 at Lehigh.
