BOSTON - Top-three finishes by juniors
Kyle Falkstrom and
Sarsen Whatmore led the way for the Boston University men's swimming & diving team on the middle day of the Terrier Invitational at FitRec Competition Pool on Saturday.
The Terriers stand in fourth place after two days with 572 points, 37 points behind third-place Massachusetts and 22 points ahead of fifth-place Fairfield.
Whatmore was runner-up in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:39.43 while Falkstrom took third in the 100-yard breast (56.40).Â
In the 3-meter dive, freshman
Lyde De Hooghe placed fifth with a score of 283.45 and senior
Michael Nejaime came in 10th.
BU also got 10th-place finishes from sophomore
Toby Jackson (200 free, 1:42.58) and freshman
Andy Carlson (100 breast, 57.93).
The Terriers' top 800-yard freestyle relay came in sixth as Jackson, senior
Daniel Galante, junior
Jacob Lindner and Whatmore turned in a time of 6:51.15.
In the 200-yard medley relay, BU's top group of Lindner, Falkstrom, senior
Benjamin Brewer and sophomore
Justin Lee placed eighth at 1:32.77 while the B squad of senior
Tommy Scrivanich, Carlson, senior
Stuart Vickery and junior
Ethan Thomas was right behind in ninth at 1:33.58.
The final day of the Terrier Invitational will place on Sunday (Nov. 21) with prelims beginning at 10 a.m.
