Women's Swimming & Diving Rolls Past Providence, 196-97

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Posting the top result in all 16 events, the Boston University women's swimming & diving team cruised to a 196-97 win at Providence on Saturday afternoon.
BU recorded a 1-2-3 result in five events, as four Terriers won multiple individual events with sophomore Madison Kim earning a team-high three first-place finishes.
Kim started the meet off teaming with sophomore Sydney Sorbello, freshman Stephanie Liu and senior Francesca Leung for a 1.24 second victory in the 200 medley relay at 2:00.58. She then later posted the top time in the 50 free (27.11), 100 free (59.27) and 200 IM (2:26.16).
Reigning Patriot League Diver of the Week and senior Emily Balicanta swept the 1 and 3-meter diving events with scores of 272.10 and 270.60, respectively, while sophomore Clarissa Hoyt won both the 100 breast (1:15.39) and 200 breast (2:42.70).
Freshman Ashley Scafetta also won a pair of events in the 400 free (4:31.26) and 800 free (9:17.67). Sophomore Blythe Brenner (200 free, 2:10.19), freshman Ella Erickson (200 fly, 2:24.90), freshman Alex Pastushan (100 back, 1:05.33), sophomore Lara Mitchell (200 back, 2:20.25) and freshman Keilah Eckhart (100 fly, 1:05.68) all reached the wall first in their respective races.
Sorbello, senior Isabella Garbacz, Leung and Brenner wrapped up the meet with the fastest time in the 200 free relay at 1:49.60, topping Providence by 1.37 seconds.
After two meets on the road, BU will next return home to host the three-day Terrier Invitational on Friday, Nov. 19 – Sunday, Nov. 21.
