Men's Swimming & Diving Opens Season at Bucknell with Loyola Maryland

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore Lyde De Hooghe swept the diving events while junior Kyle Falstrom and sophomore Dolan Grisbaum each had a second-place finish as the Boston University men's swimming & diving team opened its 2022-23 season on Saturday afternoon against Bucknell and Loyola Maryland at Kinney Natatorium.
The Terriers fell to the host Bison by a score of 208-90 and to the Greyhounds by a score of 207-87.
De Hooghe won the 1- and 3-meter dives with scores of 290.35 and 277.60, respectively. Grisbaum was runner-up in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:46.36 while Falkstom took second in the 200 breast, finishing in 2:06.04.
The Terriers added four fourth-place finishes with junior Justin Lee in the 50 free (21.18), freshman Tony Ponomarev in his collegiate debut in the 100 backstroke (51.88), Grisbaum in the 500 free (4:44.85) and Falkstrom in the 100 breast (57.58).
BU will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 29, for its home opener against Massachusetts.
