Men's Swimming & Diving in Lead After Day One of Terrier Invite

BOSTON - Boosted by two relay wins and a victory by graduate student Kyle Falkstrom in the 200-yard individual medley, the Boston University men's swimming & diving team stands in first place after day one of the Terrier Invite.
BU totaled 557 points on Friday to build a lead over Massachusetts (490) and Fairfield (393). Bryant, which only sent divers to the meet, has 50 points.
Falkstrom won the 200 IM in a personal best of 1:47.74 - just .02 seconds off the school record - and closed out the night with a win in the 400-yard medley relay with sophomore Tony Ponomarev, freshman Jonathan Tsang and senior Justin Lee in a time of 3:18.49.
The 200-yard freestyle relay of Lee, sophomore Ben Cho and seniors Andy Rogatinsky and Adrien Pierce claimed a victory to start off the night with a time of 1:22.32.
Lee was runner-up in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.55 seconds with Pierce (20.83) and Cho (20.85) right behind in third and fourth place. Another second-place finish came in the 500-yard freestyle with junior Dolan Grisbaum posting a time of 4:33.91.
Freshman Zein Mahana earned a third-place finish in the 3-meter dive (264.05) and Ponomarev took fourth in the 200 IM in a time of 1:53.26.
Day two of the Terrier Invite begins with prelims at 10 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 18).
